Angel HAZIEL

(“vision of God”) a cherub invoked to obtain the pity of God. Haziel is one of the 72 angels bearing the name of God Shemhamphorae. When equated with Bernael, he is an angel of darkness. In I Chronicles 23:9 Haziel is a mortal, an offspring of the Gershonites. The cabalists very likely drew the name from the source.
